Rain reached number 1 on the AOR (classic rock), modern rock and metal
charts.
Soup
was voted the 13th best album of 1995 in Kerrang! magazine.
No
Rain was #22 on MTV's Greatest Video Ever Made countdown at the end
of 1999.
Shannon's
death was voted 3rd most depressing thing to happen in music in 1995 in
Kerrang! magazine.
The
band was nominated for two Grammy Awards (Best Rock Performance and Best
New Artist) and one American Music Award in 1994 but failed to win either.
Shannon was arrested at this show for fighting with security.
The
band's long-form video, Letters From A Porcupine, was nominated
for a Grammy in 1997 but lost out to Alanis Morrisette.
The
video for Soul One was voted 14th best video of 1996 by MTV.

Walk)
and hosted MTV's 120 Minutes in 1995.
In
September 2001, VH1 did a Behind the Music on Blind Melon.
The

Shannon
was voted as one of the top ten Sexiest Rockers of 1994 in Playgirl magazine.
The
bee girl, Heather DeLoach, appears in the Weird Al Yankovic video of
Bedrock
Anthem (parody of Give it Away by the Red Hot Chili Peppers)
as the bee girl.
They
were voted Best Band of 1994 in the readers' poll of Rip Magazine.
Candy
Says appears on the soundtrack of the 1994 movie, The Cowboy Way,
starring
Woody Harrelson and Kiefer Sutherland. No Rain is played at
the end of the 1997 Howard Stern movie, Private Parts. Three
is a Magic Number is played during 1999 movie, Never Been Kissed,
starring Drew Barrymore and also played in the 2002 movie Slackers.
