Commentary:
Glen was raised in Columbus, Mississippi.  He was playing in the band Cafe Des Moines and attending his second year of college at Mississippi State University when he got a call from Rogers inviting him out to L.A.  For months Shannon, Rogers, Brad and Christopher had scoured L.A for a suitable drummer, one with finesse, but with no luck.  It was then that Rogers and Brad remembered Glen from back in Mississippi whom they had met on the club circuit.  Ironically, on the day he got the call from Rogers the band he was in had just lost its guitarist and he took the timing as an omen.  He quit school and set out for California with $25 in his pocket and a minimalist jazz kit that the other band members took great delight in scorning.

After the members of Blind Melon decided to go their own ways after the death of Shannon glen has been the least active.  He appeared on a couple of tracks of Brad's solo record which became Abandon Jalopy Mercy.  He also played on Joe Tullos' debut record and on a record put together by Jas Mathus of the Squirrel Nut Zippers.

It was announced on the official Blind Melon website that Glen had moved back to North Carolina and was writing his own songs and putting together a band but nothing has emerged.  Glen jammed with the remaining Blind Melon members at Danny Clinch's book release of "The Discovery Inn" in New York but other than that they claim to have had little contact with him.  In February 2001, Glen put up the drum kit he used for the majority of Blind Melon's career for sale on Ebay but no-one bid for it.
