Commentary:
Rogers was born on Halloween 1970 and grew up in West Point, Mississippi.  He was taught how to play guitar by Brad Smith and the pair played in several high school cover bands together.  In 1989, he moved to Los Angeles with Brad and the two were working with a female vocalist before they met Shannon Hoon through a mutual friend.

After Blind Melon's career ended Rogers worked on Brad's solo record and also contributed to Joe Tullos' debut record.
After the remaining members of Blind Melon decided to split up, Rogers continued to work with one of the singer's they had auditioned, Rene Lopez, under the name of Extra Virgin.  During this time Rogers also relocated to New York and took up painting and writing.

In 1999, Extra Virgin released their debut record "12 Stories High" on their own "Old Lady Records." The band continue to play regular gigs mostly in and around New York and are working on their second album.
