My Soul Has Been Released

Friends and loved ones all together, that's a soul enriching sight,
If you listen with your heart and mind there's music in the night.

Feel no sadness at our gathering, say no mournful words for me,
If you hear magic autumn music, that's my soul that's been released.

I laughed and loved and I sang and played, all of life excited me.
When you think of me remember, my soul has been released.

My music lives on after me, my spirit lives on too,
I'll see all my friends and loved ones when their earthly trip is through.

With "Tones of Home" "No Rain" and "Change" I poured out heart and mind,
The words and feelings I felt then leave a trace of me behind.

In the Indiana splendor with the leaves all brown and gold,
We gather and remember, many stories get re-told.

Some friends have met and married, some friends have gone away,
There's both sweetness and some sadness, that we're sharing here today.

Remember as you linger that though my mortal music ceased, 
In the vastness of the universe, my soul has been released.
